Senior Tax Manager

The Senior Tax Manager will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate and prepare the quarterly (including FIN18) and annual consolidated Company’s income tax provision. This includes both the recurring calculations and non-recurring calculations.

  • Prepare and coordinate the Consolidated ETR (Effective Tax Rate) forecasting for the Company’s interim periods as requested by Senior Management.

  • Prepare and provide the consolidation journal entries related to the income tax provision and income tax accounts.

  • Preparation of the interim and annual tax consolidation and tax footnote data included within the financial statements.

  • Maintain the integrity of the Tax Accounting sub ledger in support of the consolidated financial statements. Perform quarterly reconciliation on current income tax payable and deferred tax assets / liabilities accounts.

  • Analyze income tax provision to tax return variances

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other departments within the company (primarily with the finance group), to ensure consistency and alignment to ensure compliance with the Company’s reporting timelines.

  • Managing the preparation of the Company’s federal and state corporate income tax returns and estimated tax payments process. Specific duties include overseeing data collection, coordinating with external return preparer firm, accounting and finance groups, overseeing or preparing multi-state apportionment and Schedule M-3 and federal/state adjustments;

  • Assisting VP of tax in identifying tax opportunities and mitigating tax risks and in identifying and implementing tax function process improvements;

  • Advising business units and other functions such as legal, treasury and controllers, on tax matters as needed;

  • Researching tax matters and properly documenting conclusions;

  • Providing support for federal & state income tax audits including interfacing with federal & state income tax auditors;

  • Responding to domestic tax notices and other tax correspondence

  • Perform research and analysis on income tax accounting treatments and income tax law questions.

  • Assist in the implementation of tax provision software for newly integrated operation to ensure that all cumulative balances for new and legacy businesses are properly maintained in a user and auditor friendly system that is flexible and useful for tax rate forecasting.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MST preferred.

  • At least 10+ years of tax experience in public accounting and or with a tax department a corporate tax department additional experience with U.S. income tax compliance is important and transaction experience is a plus.

  • Technology savvy and proficient/advanced user of Excel.

  • Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong leadership and project management skills

  • Team player, self-motivated and willing to own area of responsibility

  • Experience in being a part of several significant projects at the same time with ability to meet critical timelines.

  • Demonstrated track record of attention to detail, successful time management and ability to prioritize based on Company’s business plans and anticipated risks.
