The position will be primarily based in Baghdad, Iraq at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC) and serve all Task Orders under the Iraq Embassy Program. The Expeditor will facilitate and track the flow of materials and equipment to and from the various vendors and freight forwarders to the requested job site. The Expeditor will report to the Procurement Manager in support of Procurement. The duties listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. DUTIES: - Work independently with minimal supervision under the direction of the Procurement Manager - Work closely with vendors to ensure accurate and on time delivery of goods to appropriate locations - Work with the GSO and applying for diplomatic notes and other required shipping documents - Maintain databases and records relating to but not limited to purchases, shipping documents, and diplomatic notes - Manage multiple sites in geographically dispersed locations - Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced environment - Effectively understand, apply and be able to enforce FAR requirements throughout procurement process - Maintains contacts with vendors/suppliers to ensure proper adherence to the terms and conditions outlined in the Purchase Order and associated terms and conditions - Resolves discrepancies between purchase orders and receipt documents and invoices - Prepare and maintain expediting logs and multiple reports directly related to the shipping status, to include, but not limited to the tracking and expediting - Respond to Supplier inquiries, maintain open line of communication with requester, and provide status to Management on all assigned shipments - Plan, organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks to perform job functions in an orderly, efficient manner - Identify problems, analyze alternatives, and develop viable recommendations - Other duties and special projects as assigned
EXPERIENCE: - Three years of experience in expediting and demonstrate familiarity and knowledge of the FAR - At least 5 years of experience working with MS Office Suite and excellent computer skills - Must have good knowledge of local market practices, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment are required - Must be able to demonstrate problem solving and organization skills - The ability to act independently is required - The ability to work across various functions and disciplines of supply chain management (SCM) and operations is required - Must be able to demonstrate analytical skills, researching skills - The ability to work in an administrative function is required. This includes tracking, filing, customer communication logs, responding to emails, and various other administrative functions REQUIRED: - Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required - Education: A high school diploma or equivalent - Security Vetting: Must possess an MRPT and remain eligible at the required security level for the duration of the contract - Language Skills: Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written - Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination DESIRED: - Knowledge of all principles and processes involved in logistics and expediting - Relevant overseas contract experience - Experience working with PAE OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of principles and processes involved in operating and supporting expediting functions - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules - Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently - Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports - Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel - Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team - Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change - Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information “PAE is an equal opportunity employer and drug- free workplace”
