Senior Staff Trainers

PAE is currently seeking a Senior Staff Trainer to support the African Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (ACOTA) Program.

The assignments vary in duration and per diem etc. are determined based on the location, prior to mobilization. These are ongoing needs and candidates will be hired on contingency basis.

The Senior Staff Trainers will:

  • Instruct and supervise staff operations training for peacekeeping personnel at the company, battalion and brigade level to prepare them for deployment to African Union (AU), United Nations (UN) or Regional Peacekeeping Missions.

  • Train commanders and staff in Peace Support Operations (PSO) operations and procedural skills. Training will focus on operations center organization and operations, staff functions, intelligence preparation for the area of operations and the military decision making process.

  • Develop POIs, lesson plans, and training support packages for collective training programs.

  • Ensure all training scenarios are based on the most current mission information. Training will involve classroom instruction, PSO Command Post Exercises and Computer Assisted Command Post Exercises.

The Senior Staff Trainers shall have the following education, experience, and military background unless otherwise approved in advance by the Contracting Officer Representative:

  • A minimum of 10 years military operations and training experience (or civilian equivalent) is required.

  • Expert level knowledge in Combat Arms, Combat Service, or Combat Service Support U.S. Military Occupational Specialty, Branch, or Functional Area

  • U.S. Military Education Level 3 or 4 (Command and General Staff College or equivalent) is required.

  • Staff experience at the brigade level, or higher, is required.

  • U.S. Military rank at the 0-5 level, or above, is required.

  • A minimum of three to five years of increasingly responsible experience with standard military training concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Willingness and ability to live and work in remote and austere field environments is required

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process to include background check and drug screen is required.

  • Prior experience in working with AU and/or UN Peacekeeping Missions strongly preferred.

  • Command time at the battalion level, or higher, is preferred.

  • Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college course work leading to an advanced degree, preferred.

  • U.S. Military combat and/or PSO experience at 0-4, 0-5, 0-6, or 0-7 (or civilian equivalent) level is preferred.
