Junior Triage Technician

PAE is seeking a Junior Triage Technician to support one of its customers:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Use X-ray devices to confirm explosive safety of recovered IED components.

  • Perform forensic photography of device and component configuration as recovered.

  • Use explosive testing and other diagnostic equipment/tools to identify explosives, homemade explosives, precursors and unknowns.

  • Analyze X-ray data for identification of initiators/explosives/power sources/firing circuits/components and booby traps.

  • Execute immediate actions per SOP to neutralize any explosive threat discovered during triage observing all associated safety precautions.

  • Confirm Level I exploitation and prioritize evidence and case accordingly.

  • Ensure storage compatibility and accountability of samples and components awaiting transfer to Level III exploitation.

  • Produce technical reports on findings and develop device profiles.

  • Maintain chain of custody.

  • Brief and train replacement personnel on all Lab and Triage SOP's.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Physical ability and commitment to deploy globally as a CEXC team member.

  • Ability to possess/handle firearms in support of CEXC operations.

  • Have familiarity with ATTAC, CIDNE, WTI Lexicon and Community of Interest databases and portals.

  • Intimate familiarity with lab processes and work flow for level II exploitation efforts.

  • Familiarity with Universal profiling and schema.

  • Have current knowledge of global IED device and TTP threat.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School.

  • Minimum qualification as a Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician with 6 years of operational experience.

  • Completion of Weapons Technical Intelligence (WTI), Home Made Explosives (HME) and Advanced IED Electronics COI's upon hire, or prior to deployment on this program.

  • Experience working with a CEXC, WTI, C-IED Team, DTK Lab, JEFF, TEDAC facility, other NGIC, DIA or ATF Lab; interagency or state/local law enforcement lab.

  • Associate’s degree/High School diploma, with 10 years civilian or military experience equivalent.

Certifications and Other Qualifications:

  • Prior U.S. Military or civilian experience working in EOD or C-IED.

  • U.S. citizenship.

  • Current DOD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
