Material Coordinator

Duties and General Functions:

This full time position supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division located at Patuxent River, MD. The successful candidate for this position coordinates the flow of material, parts, and assemblies in a machine shop environment in accordance with production and shipping schedules. He/She reviews production schedules to determine material required or overdue and locate material. He/She establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Typical Duties include;

  • Receive Milstrip, FedEx, UPS, and all other deliveries

  • Verify items, pull packing slips, copy, scan, and enter into E2 database.

  • Place items into the appropriate cages and arrange items to be easily identified.

  • Disburse items to the shop or individual(s) when requested and adjust inventory in the E2 system.

  • Responsible for removing items from the cages once project is complete and placing into upstairs inventory

  • Manage all upstairs inventories.

Skills and Experience:

  • Able to lift 75 lbs.

  • Proficient with the computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft SharePoint (desirable)

  • Ability to work well with people

  • Operate forklift (Equipment Operator's License)

  • Good communication skills

  • One year experience performing material and supply functions

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.

Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.

Selectee will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Clearance Requirements:

A Security Clearance is not currently needed to perform the duties of this position, but favorable adjudication of a background check is required and selectee must be eligible to obtain and hold a Secret clearance if requirements of the position change.
