PAE is actively searching for an SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance III to support the SCORE Contract at San Clemente Island Power Distribution Group.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advance technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgement in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculation wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex ties instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

The position will design, install, repair, modify, preventative maintenance simplifying and adjusting all electrical circuits, units, electrical controls, components and related wiring on 480VAC, 208Y/120VAC and CD voltages up to 48 VDC. Identify and solve electrical problems, various voltages produced by the island utilities, on-site/portable generators and photo voltaic/battery systems. Ensure all electrical circuits are operational and safe to support the SCORE Range Sites.

The position is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of major and minor components on a variety of Military and Commercial Power Generation Equipment;

Inspect repair, service and start up load band tests on equipment;

Troubleshoot equipment and service generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses safety devices, shutdown switches and battery systems;

5-7 years field experience on commercial/industrial generators required;

OEM training & certification a plus;

EGSA certification a plus;

Experienced using Forklifts, all terrain telescoping boom fork lifts and backhoes;

Must be able to read and understand technical manuals and electrical schematics.


Five years experience as a Journeyman Electrician working on power plants, distribution systems and mobile power generation.

Candidate must hold a valid driver’s license.

Candidate must be proficient in written and verbal English language skills.

Candidate must be able to stand, see, reach, balance 50 to 75 percent of the time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 25 to 50 percent of the time.

Candidate must be a US citizen.

Candidate must have the ability to obtain and Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) Secret Clearance for this position on the SCORE Contract.


Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service program or proven performance gained through experience in Electronics.


Knowledge of electrical tools, measuring equipment, basic electronic test equipment common to the trade. Able to use forklifts of to 20k and All-Terrain forklifts up to 10k.
