Accountant III Job Description
PAE is seeking an Accountant III to join our team! This is an excellent time to join PAE's Corporate Accounting team at a time of rapid growth for the company. The ideal candidate will be self-starter interested in driving improvement to the accounting process and accelerating their careers. Expert level Excel skills are required and experience with a large ERP system is preferred.
Essential Job Duties:
Ability to apply analytical and technical thinking across multiple areas of responsibility for moderately complex and complex tasks.
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of key accounts.
Compile and analyze financial information in order to prepare and input monthly journal entries into CostPoint to document business transactions.
Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations that include supporting documentation to substantiate the balance.
Document processes and procedures for the duties performed.
Strong understanding of the interaction of various balance sheet accounts with the financial and business operations.
Research and provide timely replies to the external auditors for the yearend audit and quarterly reviews.
Prepare quarterly analytics for accounts in support of the yearend audit and quarterly review.
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting processes and procedures that will insure strong internal controls.
Maintain accounts in accordance with US generally accepted accounting principles.
Support the general ledger manager and others on special projects, as required.
Adhere to policies and promote a strong control environment.
Detailed description of experience, training, and other requirements for job performance:
CPA required or currently pursuing
Must be a US citizen
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience which includes a good level of accounting subject knowledge and business analysis
Ability to demonstrate application of acquired knowledge and effective use of support tools and knowledge base in day to day activities
Ability to work with minimal supervision and capable of acting as a team lead
Must work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong verbal and writing skills. Emails, communications and guidance must be concise, clear and easily understood
Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment
Willingness to receive and implement guidance
Expert Excel skills, including pivot tables, filtering, and advanced formulas
Systems: CostPoint and Cognos
Govcon experience preferred
