Inventory Operations Manager- ARA

The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities. In support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Responsible for tracking and managing the physical inventory for ARA retail Inventory operations and warehouse/storage facilities through the proper utilization of the Microsoft RMS Point of Sale System on the AUTEC Project


  • Manages and Monitors inventory levels, condition and relevant expiration dates.

  • Manages and Updates inventory within Microsoft RMS system for all ARA locations.

  • Performs physical inventories (full and cycle count) on a regular basis.

  • Oversee and Reconciles inventory levels within RMS.

  • Advises ARA retail manager and ARA Buyer on supply requirements and assists in development of stocking levels to reduce/eliminate outages.

  • Identifies and recommends inventory management solutions to increase the accuracy of each location’s inventory.

  • Ensure all users of the RMS System are properly trained on the modules related to their job.

  • Receives inventory into the warehouse.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • AS/AA in a related field preferred.

  • Five (5) years related experience in an inventory control or bookkeeping environment.

  • Customer Service and experience operating a computer in an office environment also required.

  • Valid Drivers License and passport will be required.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Ability to accurately enter a large volume of data on a daily basis.

  • Ability to proofread.

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft RMS, Word, Excel, and Outlook with some knowledge of MS Access preferred.

  • Work with constantly-changing cross-functional teams to accomplish daily goals.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

  • Valid Drivers License and passport will be required.

  • This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
