Senior Discovery IT Expert

  • Typically reports to a VP, Director, or a Contract IT Manager.

  • Consults with CORs, Case Mgrs, Contract Leadership, Corp Tech Resources, and Case Attorneys as to system requirements and technical approaches.

  • Based on information gathered from such consultations, determines system and project requirements, scope of effort, and approach.

  • Based on those requirements, plans, and scope, designs entire systems to meet those requirements.

  • On smaller projects, may perform entire range of technical support, including data file conversions, program validations and testing, etc.

  • Performs systems and software evaluations, and recommends, implements, or executes adjustments.

  • Performs, manages, supervises, or conducts all technical aspects of the tasks.

  • Works under a configuration management plan, and in accord with Corporate and Government Security requirements.

  • Reports on contract, task order, and project progress.

  • Directs and supervises personnel assigned to task orders, ensuring conformance to work and technical design requirements, plans, and standards.

  • Ensures successful completion of work, timeliness of deliverables, and quality control for all development, implementation, and execution efforts.

  • Prepares or reviews system/technical documentation, including final approval—depending on the implementation.

  • Organizes and conducts user training sessions, if necessary for higher level functions. Prepares training material and training manuals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a government security clearance to include an extensive background investigation.

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in litigation/discovery environment.

  • Experience setting up, populating, troubleshooting, maintaining, documenting, and training users in databases.

  • Broad knowledge of the Government's IT environments, including office automation, discovery systems and tools, and PC or server based DBs and applications.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must have experience with:

  • Discovery systems applications development

  • Object Oriented Analysis, Design, & Programming

  • Multii-tier Transaction Based Applications

  • System Security Requirements

  • Integration of COTS tools into an overall system

  • .NET

  • SQL, Oracle, ASP, and/or HTML

  • Windows and Unix

  • C#, Delphi, Perl, C/C++, Python, Powershell, and similar programming and scripting languages

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Reporting tools such as Cognos, DOMO, Tableau, DecisionPoint, Crystal, or Qlikview

  • Experience in Groovy Programing Language for Java platform

  • Experience with Modelling and Simulations

  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA).

  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred; preferably in the computer science or information management/technology disciplines.

  • 5+ years of experience in C# or Java; 5+ years of experience with Java based open source framework / .net framework

  • Experience with DevExpress WEB UI controls

  • 5+ years of software design experience and sound understanding of object oriented and distributed computing concepts

  • Experience in designing and implementing ASP.NET Web Services

  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, is a self-starter, embraces continuous learning and improvement.
