CBP CORROSION CONTROL TECHNICIAN MIAMI
Corrosion Control Technician
Responsible for performing aircraft corrosion control to include washing, cleaning and
inspections of aircraft components, airframes, propellers and power plants; removal of
corrosion, metal treatment and painting touch-up. Assists in the preparation of the
aircraft and or components for complete repair of corrosion deficiencies. Reports to
Aircraft mechanic or Crew Chief.
DUTIES TO BE PREFORMED INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Perform pre-wash and preparation of aircraft for inspection.
Classify and document corrosion in accordance with appropriate manuals.
Detect, identify, remove and treat corrosion.
Use hand and power tools consistent with applicable tech data.
Perform touch-up painting.
Prepare aircraft and or components for painting.
Perform daily and turn-around inspections.
Launch and recover aircraft.
Service the aircraft with fuel, oil, hydraulic oil, etc in preparation for flight.
Maintaining a clean work area and flight line FOD walk downs.
Operate GSE as may be required.
Follow prescribed manufacturer’s tech data or customer directives.
Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required for the task.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must have minimum two (2) years recent aircraft experience. A&P desired.
Formal training in corrosion detection and treatment desired. May be required to
attend corrosion training.
Ability to physically perform climbing, stooping, stretching, etc. and operations
related to the job and lift up to 50 lbs.
The diversity of working conditions may range from a standard office type environment,
where there is no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may
subject the individual to sever changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust,
wind, rain and the like. On occasion, individuals may also be required to work in areas
where high noise hazards prevail, thus requiring the use of hearing protection.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and deal courteously and professionally with the customer.
