The Driver Courier and Mail Clerk is responsible for delivery of mail, and providing administrative support to those personnel supporting the adjudication process of individuals who have applied for immigration and citizenship benefits.
Drives commercial van to deliver messages, packages, and mail to other USCIS government facilities.
Loads and unloads van.
Maintain and log deliveries.
Opens, sorts and processes incoming mail.
Dates and timestamps mail per USCIS timelines.
Operate document and postal machines that collate, fold, insert material into envelopes, and affix postage and mailing labels.
Prepares outbound mail for shipment.
Maintains log for special handling mail using USCIS tracking systems.
Maintains daily control logs using USCIS tracking systems.
Minimum one year of driving / messenger experience operating a commercial van.
Minimum 6 months of relevant administrative experience.
Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record.
United States Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (if not already cleared).
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Comprehension of basic computer programs.
Strong attention to detail.
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds, bend, carry, kneel, and climb
Ability to stand, walk, and sit or any combination thereof for long periods of time.
