Carpenter - Journeyman
Essential Job Duties
Supports OCONUS customer working 7 days/week, 10 hours/day, plus supports after-hour emergent repairs or off-shift task order requirements
Install floor and ceiling tiles, walls (plaster, block, drywall), masonry work, locksmithing, cabinet making, framing, form work and paint
Operate small power tools and machinery
Personnel in each discipline on this team will be required to assist in disciplines other than their primary trade. All personnel, regardless of title or position, may be required to complete any task within their capability. Example: If an Electrician and Carpenter are at a remote site to perform routine maintenance and a plumbing issue arises, the technicians should make their best effort to repair the plumbing issue, even though it is not their primary trade
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program for a journeyman carpenter with experience in framing, wood working, roofing, concrete forms, and eight (8) years of experience in trades and building maintenance
Knowledge of local and state building and safety codes
Must have knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
Possess practical knowledge of repairs, installation of floor and ceiling tile, walls (plaster, block, drywall), masonry work, locksmithing, cabinet making, framing, form work and general knowledge of the painting trade
Must be able to operate small power tools and machinery as required
Must read blueprints and perform material take-offs from prints
Knowledge of CONUS building and safety codes and practices
Possess the skills and demeanor to effectively communicate with the customer and team
Successfully pass pre-deployment physical and training
Willingness to work in austere locations/conditions
Experience in OCONUS operations and maintenance projects highly preferred
Minimum SECRET clearance required, TS preferred. Clearances are driven by location.
