Human Resources Assistant

Job Purpose:

Provide Human Capital services, including onboarding processing, internal recruiting tracking, health and welfare benefit details, records management, data processing, data processing for employee changes and Worker’s Compensation, high level of customer service, HR compliance, and daily assistance as needed to the Human Capital Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (day to day functions):

  • Assist Human Capital Manager with solutions by collecting and providing information on employee concerns

  • Data entry and maintenance of performance management system, and assist in a successful 90 day review

  • Compliance and regulatory reporting as required for the site and HQ

  • Assist with employee orientation and be able to answer basic benefit questions

  • Assist with policy and procedure communication and compliance using site Guidelines and company Handbook

  • Ensuring proper record keeping and paperwork processing

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation; assist with enforcing adherence to requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested

Minimum Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • High School diploma and 2 years in administration support, preferably in Human Resources- not required

  • Computer/system skills required: Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with excel

  • Experience working with a government contractor and Service Contract Act strongly preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team and fast pace environment

  • Ability to show initiative and commitment to the company’s goals

  • Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements

  • Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times

  • Strong organization skills to balance and prioritize work and improve processes when necessary

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers both in written and verbal communications

  • Positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to Lift up to 20 lbs, bends, reach, carry, stoop, kneel, etc.

Work Environment:

This position is performed in a traditional office environment.
