General Clerk I

Duties :

Summer Hire Position, not a Full-Time / Permanent position.

This is a temporary position for college students during the summer of 2018 which supports a wide variety of non-complex duties at the AVMI, Patuxent River, Maryland. Incumbents will be required to perform a variety of tasks that are specific to the various teams within AVMI


  • Must be able to follow instructions and perform all assigned tasks accurately and on schedule

  • Must possess good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office products

  • Must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing

  • Must possess basic math skills

  • Other Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information: - Good attitude.- Willing to show up and work hard.- Adapt to tasking that may vary from week to week.- Good attention to detail.

  • General shop organization - Label equipment, shelving, and drawers - Prepare paperwork for disposal of obsolete equipment, move equipment to staging area - Etch tools, shadow tool boxes and drawers.

Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Most work is performed within enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching. Incumbents must be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. when assisted by other employees.

Incumbents must possess a valid driver’s license.

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen and must be able to obtain and hold a Secret clearance.

All candidates will be required to pass a Drug Screening.
