Duties :

This is a summer hire position which will support the Global Positioning System team with a wide variety of duties, including the Atlantic Test Ranges’ (ATR) Systems Engineering controls and processes of defining and verifying implementation of system and software requirements. The student shall create, develop, modify, and test software programs for the GPS/EDLS Data Ground System. Duties shall also include acquiring, installing, and adapting new GPS/EDLS Data Ground-related hardware and peripherals to enhance system performance and longevity.

Experience/Skills :

  • Should be an energetic, conscientious self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and can manage time to meet project deadlines

  • Experience with C++ programming language

  • Must be able to define system and software requirements and to implement them by generating numerical techniques and computational algorithms, graphics imagery, and system software for the development and maintenance of the software

  • Must be able to develop test plans, descriptions, procedures, and reports as part of the software test and evaluation process

  • Must be able to perform test analysis to determine system and test coverage, to evaluate critical test results, and to evaluate all software changes to ensure that changes do not adversely affect systems and software performance

  • Must possess good computer skills, including proficiency in the MS Office Suite

  • Must be able to participate in working groups, acquisition milestone reviews, and formal qualification testing in order to identify potential risks to the GPS/EDLS and to resolve software and system interface problems

Work Conditions:

  • Conditions will vary. Most work will be performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and some college experience
