Electronic Technician Maintenance II

PAE is actively searching for an SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance II to support the Naval Air Station North Island Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) Contract, San Diego, CA.

Primary duties include (are not limited to):

  • Deliver, install/remove, and perform operational verification tests of GPS tracking packages on Naval vessels and aircraft in support of the Naval Air Station North Island, Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) contract, San Diego, CA.

  • Maintain repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment; personal and mainframe computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.

  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode

  • Recommend changes in equipment circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

  • Apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum three years experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic systems.

  • Must be proficient in the use of electronic test equipment; and be able to interpret engineering drawings and sketches.

  • Familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to acquire a passport with ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) Secret Clearance.

  • Travel to Naval military bases and facilities within and outside California, as well as, some travel to Canada may be required.


  • Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service program or proven performance gained through experience in the field of electronics maintenance and repair is required.


  • Proficient in written and verbal English language skills.

  • Knowledgeable in basic computer operation (MS Windows) for the purposes of email, recordkeeping and scheduling.

  • Able to stand, see, reach 50-75% of the time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 50-75% of the time.

  • Physically fit and capable of spending extensive hours in support of range operations.

  • Must hold a California Driver’s licence.

  • Knowledge of military operations and military (Navy AW/AT) experience are highly desirable.
