Information Assurance Specialist

PAE is actively searching for an Information Assurance Specialist that has 3-5 years of Host Based Security System (HBSS) advanced administration experience to support the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) Contract located at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA.

Performs computer and/or network security vulnerability assessments and scans to identify, evaluate and mitigate security risks, threats and vulnerabilities. Audit's computer systems to ensure compliance with mandated policies and reviews log files across the network. Monitors and maintains security systems in accordance with DoD mandated policies. Investigates security violations and breaches and reports such violations as necessary. Research, recommend, and implement information security solutions.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Must meet DoD Cyber Security Workforce (DoD 8570.01-M) requirements, 3-5 years HBSS experience (with HBSS 201 &301)

  • Two or more years of computer science, management information systems, network, and/or data security experience in a multiple operating system environment

  • Familiar with ACAS, eMASS, RMF, DIACAP, vulnerability management, and incidence response.

  • Experience working with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux)

  • Experience working with IP networking, DNS, VPN's, firewalls, and access-lists

  • Experience working with computer desktop packages (Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Experience working in a DoD environment - Ability to work with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, etc.)


  • Ability to work in a team environment - Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members

  • Communications skills to interact with team members and support personnel

  • Analytical and problem solving skills for resolving security issues

  • Ability to balance and prioritize work

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Candidate must have the ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) Secret Clearance for this position on the SCORE Contract.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

  • Occasional travel to offsite locations

  • May require shift and weekend work


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred

  • Security+ certification preferred
