Job Summary:

The QA Manager is responsible for identifying, establishing and maintaining an AS9100 Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100, Rev D which is certified by a 3rd party registrar. The QA Manager prepares and publishes written procedures and establishes necessary controls to ensure delivered production UAV aircraft and associated end items meet or exceed AS9110 Aerospace and contractual requirements.

The QA Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the ISR safety program and ensures communication of and adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety policies to provide a safe working environment for all employees, customers, contractors and visitors, and maintaining safety records.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides guidance to the ISR President, Operations Officer and assists in problem resolution to ensure that proper corrective actions are accomplished.

  • Establishes and maintains a formal an AS9100 Quality Control Program (QCP) to ensure the requirements of the standard and contract are provided as specified, and assures Contractor compliance with aircraft and equipment technical data and applicable directives.

  • Ensures quality of services and workmanship in a timely manner to meet Production and Mission Availability requirements.

  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives, and coordinates objectives with procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability and to minimize costs.

  • Performs Internal Audit and conducts Corrective and Preventative actions in support of continues improvement.

  • Conducts work site inspections, accident investigation and safety training.

  • Coordinates the activities of personnel during safety and/or environmental emergency situations.

  • Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.

  • Ensures maintenance is performed and documented correctly in accordance with established procedures, directives and applicable technical data.

  • Promotes a proactive process/product/service improvement program, a safe working environment and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Establishes means to identify and correct maintenance safety violations.

  • Ensures adherence to Technical Inspections (TI), Program Management (PM) Inspections, Safety Violations and Ground Operation Procedures (GOP).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialized field commensurate with position is preferred or at least 10 years of hands-on experience as a Quality Assurance/Control Inspector; Environmental, Safety, Health Specialist or equivalent experience.

  • Must have five years’ experience in administrative, professional, analytical or other work related to AS 9100 and/or ISO 9001 programs or operations and similar experience in managing Environmental programs.

  • AS9110 Lead Auditor Training and/or ASQ Auditor experience preferred.
