THIS SCA POSITION PAYS $26.47/HOUR WITH AN ADDITIONAL $4.27/HOUR FOR HEALTH AND WELFARE
Conduct factual and legal research and provide written analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section’s rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities.
Performs complex legal research.
Synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use.
Reviews case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation.
Writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.
May require travel for trial support.
Expected to become very familiar Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008.
Must be a US Citizen and able to successfully complete a background investigation.
This position places a premium on the ability to write well. In applying the facts to the legal analysis, the writing must be logical, persuasive and sufficiently thorough so as to leave the reader with the firm feeling that the correct decision has been reached.
Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and legal resources.
Requires excellent writing skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis, Westlaw.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
Previous experience working with federal civil rights statutes.
JD strongly preferred. Will consider candidate's with extensive litigation support experience coupled with Paralegal certificate.
Considering candidate's with current Public Trust clearance.
